Longer-term, watch how the Yankees handle Domínguez's outfield deployment if and when he returns. Boone's pre-game comments suggested a deliberate, methodical approach to developing him defensively. A wall collision this jarring — on only his second outfield start of the year — may push that timeline back further, keeping him locked into the DH role and limiting his playing time when the roster is healthy. Fewer plate appearances means thinner value on his hit and total bases lines going forward.
